El Hadji Karamoko Quattara, 58, has been charged with reckless driving after his tractor trailer ran off the road and slammed into a Honda Odyssey stopped on the shoulder, killing three people. Quattara originally entered the country illegally but later became a naturalized citizen. The victims, all from Charlotte, North Carolina: Lorraine Renee Williams, 65, the driver. Ebony Latasha Williams, 49. Shazziyah Lesley, just 2 years old. Three other passengers were hospitalized: a 63-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl, and a man in his early 70s. Virginia State Police say Quattara was heading north on I-81 near mile marker 145 when he veered off the right side of the road and struck the parked vehicle at 11:08 PM on December 22.
